WILL MEDICARE PAY FOR REMOVAL OF EXCESS SINK AFTER WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY? WHO WILL DO IT?

I had gastric bypass in 2003. Since we have mislaid over 250 pounds, as the outcome we have alot of additional penetrate in the intestinal area. This causes sores. And indeed is not easy to keep clean. Continually smells bad. What can we do to get help? Money is tight. So we have the complaint paying. we have medicare. How or who can help?

    If you can get a medical reason this needs to be done, they may cover some… They will most likely see it as cosmetic unless you get a physician and surgeon to say that it is medically required. You need to call your physician and find this out. Then call whoever did your bariatric surgery and ask them about the skin removal surgery.

    I was told that if you have documented proof of the infections from your doctor and you go to a plastic surgeon, he will work with Medicare for your excess skin problem. I have Medicare and that is what we were told in our Weight Loss Support Group by a Plastic Surgeon. Good Luck! Congratulations on your weight loss.
