IM WORRIED ABOUT MY SISTER POSSIBLY HAVING LEUKEMIA.

My sister is 36 years aged as good as hasnt been feeling good for a whilst right away though they have only been amiable things similar to feeling unequivocally diseased as good as sleepy as good as she has been carrying a little digesting problems along with alternative tiny things though here recently, her hair has been descending out as good as a removing worse everyday. Its descending out completley from a root. She doesnt even have to hold it as good as it falls out. She went to a alloy as good as they took a little exam though we dont know if they tested for cancer or not as good as didint wish to ask her which since we dont wish to shock her though Im unequivocally disturbed which it might be leukemia. Can Leukemia have your hair tumble out prior to we begin recieving treatments if which is what it could be? we have no thought what could be wrong with her as good as Im unequivocally worried. Please help

Hair falling out is usually a sign of either alopecia (basically going bald), thyroid probs or an autoimmune condition. I’m not a doctor but i’m pretty sure leukemia doesn’t cause your hair to fall out. Chemotherapy certainly does though! Leukemia can make you tired, bruise very very easily and lots of other things. It may also cause no symptoms.
My mate who is 27 had exactly the same thing, it turned out to be an autoimmune disease that is being treated with steroid tablets, is not terminal, and is treatable. There is not a specific blood test for cancer although there is tumour markers and other things they can test for which can lead to a diagnosis. Leukemia will however show up in a blood test (not all the time but most of the time) as i presume the white blood cell count would be sky high. I’m sure the doctors have done a Full Blood Count as it’s pretty routine.
Don’t stress about the hair falling out thing – it’s not cancer that causes it – it’s the drugs you go one once you start cancer treatment. Good luck and keep us posted

first of all when having leukemia your hair would not start coming out till treatment. and if she went to the doctor they probably took a blood test and if then she had an elavated white blood cell count then they would check for leukemia. It could be some other kind of cancer if you really think its cancer, but i only know about leukemia because my best friend died on may first 2004 when we were ten of leukemia.
