You can get an idea of what it is like . . although it will be impossible for you to capture the experience if you have never gone through it at all. It is too difficult to describe and writers frequently turn the characters into something to be pitied . . if anything you should write about a normal teenager . . who does everything everyone else does . . but he just happens to have cancer that gets in the way everytime he tries to just go out and live his life. Most teens do not want to be defined by the disease . It’s a nuisance.http://www.cancerkids.org/Children/Stori…http://www.teenslivingwithcancer.org/http://www.cancer.net/patient/Coping/Age…

    Hives
Blood Feels Like It Is Burning
    Vomiting
    Weakness
    Shortness of Breath
    Weird Cravings
    (my brother craved mayonnaise)
    Constant:
    Needles
    Doctors
    Catheters
    IVs
    Face Masks (breath masks)
    Hospitals
    Xrays
    Blood Tests
    MRIs
    Infections
    Surgeries
    Worry
    Fear
    Acknowledgment of possible death.
What else would you like to know

I found this article about the difference in cancer survival rates and remission for teenagers as opposed to children and older adults. Thought you might find it helpful for your story…
