WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT’S FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR DIGITAL TV?

HELLO!!!!!!!!! we consider there have been some-more critical things a supervision should outlay the income on! If people can’t means digital tv, afterwards they can live but it! I’m unemployed, struggling to go to college as good as am not authorised for supervision assisted healthcare. (uninsured as well)

I wouldn’t really call it “government assistance,” most of it is funded by cable companies and it is a rebate, meaning they are just returning some of the money you already paid them.
Oh, and it SHOULD NOT be the govt’s responsibility to make sure you go to college and get healthcare, but nice try.

I don’t think it was the government’s business to mandate television going digital in the first place. Since they did it they damn well better pay all of us to be able to afford it! I am disabled, I live on disability and supplementary security income, have no car, only small apartment, every time social security gives a “cost of living” increase, family services takes it away by reducing my food stamps. I paid into these programs all the years I worked. My children pay into them now and will probably never draw a penny.
I believe that we should all be able to use the televisions we already have. I am sorry if you are able to use your student loans to buy a digital set; therefore, feel no obligation to those of us that cannot do so. But I do not believe that “Big Brother” has the right to mandate that I purchase a new set or afford cable or satellite (my apartment management won’t allow satellite).
I guess I could be just as callous and say if you can’t afford health care go without it; but, I don’t honestly feel that way. Get a part time job – I had one when I was going to school full time, and I was a single mom to three children, too!

While I agree there are “better” things to spend the money on, I am grateful that I got one of the $40 coupons before they were all gone, because Walmart had them for $49, so I got mine for ten bucks.
