See if the vet will take payments, call a golden retriver rescue center, see if they know anyone, borrow from friends or family, put it on a charge, get your unemployment money coming in, don’t pay your gas or electric bill whatever it takes!

There are free clinics. They spay/neuter for free but some also provide other medical care. It would be worth a shot. Here’s a webpage: http://www.petsandanimals.org/spayneuter…

I was in the same situation last week w/ No MONEY! My kittens were deathly ill and I didn’t know what to do. Go to carecredit.com and fill out the online application. If approved they will give you a credit limit that you can use for veterinary expenses. You can even use it before your card comes. All you have to do is find a vet that accepts care credit. I had no problem finding one, lots of places do now.
They gave me a 1000 dollar limit (which is all spent now) but it really helped and there is no interest!

Um well you could start by feeding her homemade food if you aren’t already. The dog food on the market has been making lots of animals sick and is made from grade D food. Make your dog food with oatmeal and a little bit of ground beef or other meat thrown in. Dogs really like cheese and different kids of sausage too, like sumemr sausage, or give him ham. Make sure you aren’t giving him anything dangerous. Here’s some websites that might help you.
Also, I want to point out that some ingredients can be very harmful and even deadly to dogs. Check the 2nd website below.
If you decide to make her food maybe you might want to ask the vet what proportions to give things in.
I don’t know where you could get financial help for your dog, I guess maybe ask the vet if he/she knows where to get assistance. I have a soft heart but am not too well off financially myself right now or I would help you. I’m disabled too and my mom has a golden retriever. I am sorry to hear about your dog.
Sorry I couldn’t be more help financially…

Some vets take weekly payments if you have been a regular client with a good track record, and they can trust you to pay it back, but you must go to them before the date and explain your circumstances…dont bury your head, if you can in the future..get pet insurance. Also where i live there is an organisation called The Blue Cross, they help unemployed people, disabled and people on benefits to pay for medication and surgery for pets, see if there is something similar in your area, your vet would know.
Good luck, hope you get back on track soon…chin up.

Sadly, there isn’t really much in the way of help for this type of thing. You can ask for a payment plan-some vets will but many now a days won’t. Remember they have a buisness to run and if they gave away care they couldn’t pay staff, cover costs, or make a living. It is a sad truth-lots of folks want to beleive that someone will help in this case but it doesn’t work that way. Many vets have to put pets to sleep over finance issues. I would contact a Golden rescue group-they are your best bet for info and maybe even some assitance. You can find rescue group info on the AKC website. Best of luck to you.

The top best answers is “Chetco”, this person has helped me through sooo much. My nine year old boxer recently passed and Chetco was there with me every step of the way, (4 months, and has become my friend). Checto has a heart, a great heart that is there always for me and all my pets. Chetco’s email is open and will definitely respond. Almost 30 years Checto has, as a breeder, and pet lover. Hope you are helped. Oh your email is not opened, not to worry Chetco’s is.

Try to contact your local veterinarians and find out if you can work a payment plan.
Many places will take payments for procedures and care: Let them know your current financial situation. There are also programs with the humane society/your local spca for low income/financially troubled situations.
PS – For the statement above me: I realize the media did a huge report on creating home-made food for your pet. This is highly unadvised without speaking to a veterinarian/animal nutritionist first. Partially due to the medical conditions that can occur from creating a home made diet improperly (example: hypoalbuminemia from pancreatitis)
Hope this helps!

Call the vet. Most want to help even if they can’t do it themself – I bet they have LOADS of numbers for shelters/charities that can help you. Explain the situation – it’s not your fault about your job, I’m sure they’ll be willing to help.
Are you on benefits? I don’t know if you’re from England or not, but here people on benefits qualify for big help from the PDSA. I’m sure there are similar facilities in America and elsewhere.
Good luck, hope it all works out, sounds like a very tough time you’re going through

Contact your local ASPCA. They should be more than happy to offer you assistance at little or no cost! Good luck!

At this point your only solution will probably be to put your pet to sleep.
I’m sorry to say that unless you pay for pet insurance you won’t have any financial assistance.
I have had several dogs. Often when it comes to liver and kidney problems, the best bet is to make sure the dog DOESN’T SUFFER. I would much rather make sure my best friend isn’t in pain than risk financial ruin to try to prolong his life for a few months. It’s just selfish.
